Love, Algorithms, and Unexpected Matches: Match Me If You Can

A breath of fresh air in the romance genre, the story of the matching agency in Match me if you can explored how technology and human intuition can create perfect matches.

Poppy and Tristan, the main characters, had a lot of chemistry, but their journey wasn’t without its bumps. Misunderstandings and challenges tested their connection.
Tristan‘s best friends, Ravi and Jacinda, provided unwavering support, and their own romance added a delightful layer to the story.

The book had a diverse cast of characters, each with a rich backstory and distinct personality. I appreciated the author’s exploration of love in its various forms: friendship, attraction, compatibility, and commitment.

However, the portrayal of the Italian contessa in the first part fell flat. Her character felt stereotypical and one-dimensional, and the inclusion of grammatically incorrect Italian dialogue was a missed opportunity. As an Italian reader, I found it frustrating and disrespectful.

My favourites were Jacinda, with her unwavering kindness, and Saskia, who embodied strength. Both women exuded independence and were incredibly relatable and inspiring.

The trip to Edinburgh, my current home, was a personal highlight. The author’s vivid descriptions captured the city’s charm and beauty, while cleverly weaving its culture into the story.

The book delivered a heart warming message: love can conquer any obstacle, and sometimes, the perfect match isn’t who we expect, but who we truly need.

Overall, this book offered a charming escape.
