The Atlas Six: A Learning Journey Begins

Despite a narrator I didn’t connect with in the Italian audiobook, the fame of The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake was too strong to resist. This dark academia fantasy, my first incursion into the genre, surprised me. While it might not be a life-changing read, it’s a compelling introduction to a captivating saga.

The world-building is intricate enough to pique the reader’s curiosity, leaving you eager to delve deeper in the following volumes. However, the true strength of the novel lies in its characters and their development.

Libby and Nico‘s initial dynamic throws a delightful curveball at the enemies-to-lovers trope, taking an unexpected turn halfway through.
Reina and Parisa stand out as strong, complex women.
Tristan‘s growth hints at a potentially pivotal role in the future, while Callum, despite his flaws, delivers a surprisingly emotional scene.

The ending itself is a well-executed plot twist that leaves you eager to see how the story unfolds.

Overall, The Atlas Six is a captivating introduction to a promising series. Its intriguing world, well-developed characters, and surprising turns make it a worthwhile read for dark academia and fantasy fans.

Knowledge is carnage. You can’t have it without sacrifice.
